At 9:30am 1st Sunday: a service of Holy Communion. At 9:30am 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Sundays: Morning Worship
We use variations on the Common Worship Liturgy, but can expect most of the elements you would expect in a traditional Anglican service. Worship is led by an organist and small robed choir. The sermon is a key element of the service. Refreshments are served afterwards
At 10.45 each Sunday:
First Sunday of the month – All Age Worship: This is a relaxed and interactive service where the children stay in throughout (although crèche facilities are available for the very young). Clergy and Readers do not robe for this service
Third Sundays - Holy Communion. The service has a relaxed atmosphere and uses Common Worship liturgy to draw us all closer to God. There is a crèche and three other children’s groups who leave fro their own activities early in the service and come back when communion s being received.
Second, fourth and fifth Sundays - Morning Worship.
Worship is led by a group of singers who operate on a rota basis and by a music group, with backing CD’s supplementing our own musicians at other times.
The sermon is a key part of the service. These follow sermon series themes. Each series, together with Bible readings is published in our quarterly Programme card. Past series include The Living Church, Christian Disciplines and John’s Gospel.
10.45 – Family Communion – a relaxed and interactive Communion Service for all ages.
At our Sunday service we have groups of children of all ages. Music is varied and lively and an important part of our services. The organ is rarely heard at St Peter’s, though our daughter church, All Saints has a much more traditional form of worship you will find that the language used in both churches is easily understood and there are opportunities to understand more.
We seek to apply faith to every day life in a relevant and understandable way. We are Christians 24/7 not just on Sundays. Our faith is about enjoying a relationship with God, it’s about community and changed lives. Download the current services Programme Card by clicking the image above, or link below.
